Our Home Requirements

So as we prepare to move we will be compiling a list of wants/dreams/must haves for purchasing our first home. To get started I read some interesting information that I wouldn't have thought of on a forum this evening. So here is the continually compiled list of things for the house that would be good to have, this listed is not sorted by priority.
- Southward facing driveway, as opposed to a north facing driveway. The reasoning being that a driveway (garage) that faces south would get more sunlight, potentially melting more snow when it does snow. Makes sense right?
- Proximity to Dressage Barn, we'll be looking for a location near a nice dressage barn, what defines nice is yet to be determined, but we will be looking for something within a short drive for Natalie.
- A view, I would love to find a place with a great view of the mountains. This might not be attainable based on budget, but we'll see what we find.
- Internet connection, as I will be working from home finding a place that has a highspeed internet connection is a must. I get 16mb service here in St. Louis, hopefully something comparible out west.
- Garage, a large garage, at least 3 cars. We must have a place to store our toy(s)! Nice to haves for the garage: dedicated circuit breaker, height - enough for a car lift
- Fenced yard, we need a nice big yard for the dogs to play in. I will most likely figure out some sort of automated doggie door to let the dogs come and go as they please, hopefully there are options that can lets the dogs out, but keep the cat in.
- Space, we don't want to be right up on our neighbors.
- A big bath tub. Natalie misses having a good sized bathtub to sit in.
- Home Automation. One of the projects for the house will be to track our home automation progress at www.domoticsblog.com. Part of the house hunting process will be to look for a house either with a home automation system already intact, or that would be a good candidate for adding home automation too, most likely the latter. A good core electrical system will be a must for this, with grounded outlets!
- Fire place, we most definitely need a fireplace!
- Hot tub/jacuzzi, the older we get the more this is necessary!
- 3-4 Bedrooms, Probably to be used for office space, maybe kids some day :D
- Basement, possibly for office space, definitely for storage
- Home Theater, in our price range we might not find this, but having some room in the basement that we could build a home theater would be excellent. One goal is to have a room for entertainment that is not a wide open area with a lot of windows like we have now.
- Newer home, probably 2003 or newer.
