So Sunday Night Natalie and I were kind of freaking out. We didn’t like Fort Collins, and we didn’t know what to do. Actually, on Monday we were in the same boat, we looked at Longmont/Boulder, found a nice barn or two, but nothing on the housing front that would fit in our price range. Heck, Tuesday around noon we were still in the same boat, unsure of what we were going to do.
By Tuesday evening we were set though, we found the perfect barn for Natalie and then drove around Parker and saw a lot of neighborhoods. Wednesday we spent all day looking at houses, 17 of them, then we flew home to St. Louis.
It was a long day, but very fruitful, we got to see a lot of Parker and the available homes, and overall we were very impressed with everything we saw. Two homes stuck out, one that I don’t think will last on the market, and is a little more finished than I want (basement is complete). The other is bigger, more expensive, has an unfinished basement and a TREMENDOUS view. Don’t believe me on the view? Check this photo out (click for larger)

That’s the view from the master bedroom.
So there are a couple issues with this house we like. 1) the trim on the outside of the house is Yellow :( 2) the yard needs some love. I think 2 is the easier of the issues to handle ourselves, the trim however I am not sure about. Here’s a shot of the front of the house (click for larger)

The yellow in the photos actually doesn’t look TOO bad, but in person it really sticks out. The inside of the house is amazing. The only thing we would change is that the basement has chain link fencing up for dog pens, we would have that removed in the contract. Other than that no work needs to be immediately done from what we could tell. The basement is large, and would provide the ability to build some rooms down there, a game room, home theater room, office and probably even an additional bedroom!
So now we talk about things, decide what we want to do, and then figure out if we’re going to make another trip out there in the next couple of weeks.
